Written by  John Chihana

Chitipa, August 30, 2019: Savenda Chitipa United Football Club (FC) head coach, Alex Ngwira says he is confident his side will produce a string of good results in the second round of the TNM Super League that will ultimately ensure the club’s survival.

In an interview, Ngwira said he was happy with the preparations currently under way for their first game in the second round against TN Stars FC at Karonga Stadium on Saturday.

He said the team is well aware of the opponents they will face in their opener after they lost to Kasungu- based outfit by a goal to nil in the first round away fixture.

“They (TN Stars) were lucky they scored in the first fixture, but this time it will be us on the winning side as the team is now well prepared and we have found our back bone,” said Ngwira.

The head coach further explained that the team was in a building stage during the early matches of the super league which was why the results were not always good.

“Coordination among the players started improving in the later games of the league and we will continue building on that, this gives me confidence that we will earn more points in the second round and avoid relegation,” he said.

TN Stars are currently on sixth position after amassing 27 points in the first round while Chitipa United sits on twelfth position after amassing 15 points from the first round.

In a separate interview, captain for Savenda Chitipa United, Hardy Ng’andu said he was not worried about relegation as he believes the squad has potential due to its hardworking players who can influence the outcome of a match.
