Nsanje, May 31, 2020:Nsanje District Council has commended women led Campaign for Female Education’s (CAMFED) group of alumni called CAMA Nsanje Chapter for distributing hand washing materials to the district’s markets.

Receiving the donation on Friday, Nsanje District Director of Planning and Development Smith Mnenula described the donation as timely to the district’s Covid-19 response.

“This is a commendable support from the women who were CAMFED bursary beneficiaries. They were being assisted by CAMFED, and now they are giving back to the community. We are very thankful for the support as it will assist us to respond to Covid-19,” said Mnenula.

One of the CAMA members Steveria Steven said they felt duty bound to provide the materials as one way of taking part in the fight against Covid-19.

“The support which we have handed over to Nsanje District Council will be distributed in markets where some of us are doing businesses,” said Steven.

The CAMA members donated three cartons of surgical gloves, two buckets, 144 tablets of Protex soap and 50 hands washing liquid soap.

CAMA is a group of women who were supported by CAMFED where upon completion of their studies they become members of the grouping.
