35 people arrested in a sweeping exercise in Limbe

Blantyre, December 14, 2018: Police in Limbe have arrested 35 people in a sweeping exercise that took place on the night of December 11 to 12, 2018 on suspicion that they committed various offences in Limbe.

Public Relation Officer (PRO) for Limbe Police, Patrick Mussa in an interview on Wednesday said   the arrested suspects are to answer for breaking into a building and possessions of stolen property.

“The properties are suspected to have been stolen through robbery and burglary. They will soon appear in court to answer the charges leveled against them,” he said.

The Suspects were arrested in Machinjiri, Makhetha and Limbe Market.

The Police are reminding members of the public that the sweeping operation was an ongoing operation aiming at reducing and putting to an end in Limbe.
