Mulanje, April 9, 2019: Mulanje Central Constituency Shadow Member of Parliament for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Kondwani Nankhumwa on Monday conducted a tour to various developments in his area, where he also advised communities to own the projects.

Nankhumwa, who is also Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, said people should protect and put to prudent use the various developments implemented in the past five years under his leadership as parliamentarian.

“Let us use wisely the developments we have received here,” Nankhumwa who doubles as DPP Vice President for the South said.

He, therefore, appealed to people in the area to vote for the Democratic Progressive Party under the leadership of Peter Mutharika in the fourthcoming May 21 Tripartite Elections for more development projects to flourish.

In his remarks, Senior Chief Chikumbu commended Nankhumwa for the developments initiated during his term of office, saying the area has been transformed.

Senior Chief Chikumbu, however, advised her subjects to take care of the infrastructure for the benefit of other generations to come.

“The development is for the people of Mulanje Central and not the Member of Parliament. Any one found vandalizing the infrastructure will face the long arm of the law,” she warned.

“We have witnessed today the opening of the bridge and electricity in the area and this should be a message to us to take care of the facilities. All these belong to us and not the MP,” Chikumbu added.
