Lilongwe, December 9, 20192: A musician of Japanese Nationality, Itaru  Suzgo and the Zomba-based songbird Taurai have dropped a single titled ‘Ukanene zoona’ which is spreading romantic message.

The song, which is in vernacular (Chichewa) and English languages talks of a man from a foreign country appreciating the love and beauty of a Malawian woman and is asking to be in love with the woman.

“For the first time I came to Malawi// I was sitting under Mango tree// kudya nsima yanga// ndili phee ndinawona namwali// tandiuzeni dzina chemwali// mwatenga mtima wanga// mayo mayo mtima wanga// ndikufuna ukhale mnzanga// kenako bwenzi langa,” goes part of the song.

In an interview with Malawi News Agency (MANA), Taurai said they thought of the song concept motivated by features of the country which attract tourists and also by one of the local movies, The Last Fishing Boat.

“We were motivated by both natural and cultural features of our country which attract overseas tourists.

“In addition, we were also highly inspired by Shemu Joya’s movie titled ‘The Last Fishing Boat’ which depicts a famous British novel writer crazily falling in love with a young Malawian woman,” Taurai said.

She said the instrumental part of the song was produced by Dkez Walker of Street Vibes Studio in Zomba District while the voices were recorded and mixed by Pro-Grace at Rays Music Records and its video was produced under Banner Creative Multinations in Zomba.

In his remarks, Itaru Suzgo who has been in the country for two years, said he loves Malawian girls, hence enjoyed working on the new single with a vision of marrying in the country.

“I enjoyed working on Ukanene zoona single because I like Malawian girls, they are very kind and I am planning to find one in the future just like I did in the music,” he said.

One of the Itaru Suzgo music followers on facebook, Dalitso Saidi described the new single as one of the best collaborations the country’s music industry has ever produced, saying the song has adorable message which reflects the growth of two artists in the country’s music scene.
