Mzuzu, July 3, 2019: Swag Entertainment Company (SEC) will unveil a 3 000 capacity entertainment park in Mzuzu with an event called Kukaya Urban Music Festival on August 30 and 31, 2019.

The park, named Swag Entertainment Park, has been built about 700 metres behind Grand Palace Hotel.

In an interview, SEC Chief Executive Officer, Francis Mkandawire said the park will create a platform for interaction between artists from across the country and their audience.

“It’s a place where we want a lot of artists to be given a platform to showcase their talents. It will be something that we should be proud of,” he said.

He said with the park, Mzuzu would be well represented in terms of provision of entertainment avenues.

This will be the first time for a northern-region based music company to own an entertainment park that would accommodate music shows and corporate functions among others.

Mkandawire said Kukaya Festival is going to be held for the first time which will build a sense of pride for the north.

“What I can assure everyone of is that we are creating an event that will build a sense of pride for the north.

“I encourage everyone to take pride and patronize the event as we will have some artists who have never performed before, others haven’t performed in years as well,” Mkandawire said.

Over 15 artists in the urban circle have confirmed attendance and the company will start unveiling them from July 5 to July 15 in the hype build up.

Meanwhile, Swag Entertainment Company which is sponsoring the event has appealed to the corporate world to join in fulfilling the dream.
