Karonga United eyes Civil Sporting Club Assistant Coach.

Mzuzu, December 20, 2017: A rebound team in the elite TNM Super League, Karonga United is eying Civil Sporting Club Assistant Coach, Oscar Kaunda to return to the team as a coach.

Speaking to Malawi News Agency (Mana), Tuesday, Chairperson for Karonga United, Alufeyo Chipanga Banda said the team is doing everything possible to bring back Kaunda before the 2018-2019 season kicks off.

“Kaunda is a good coach, he was with us when were in the Super league last time, he has high quality coaching techniques which can assist us not to be relegated from the league. By any means he will be the coach for Karonga United,” said Banda.

Commenting on the development, Head Coach for Civil Sporting Club, Franko Ndawa said Kaunda is a free agent who can mentor any team in the world which wants his services regardless of the status of the team.

Kaunda further said he knows all corners of Karonga United and he welcomes the team’s proposal to have him back as its coach.

“I have not yet been approached by Karonga United officially on that issue, but I am ready to go back to coach the team. I have mentored Karonga United before, I know the team very well,” said Kaunda.

Karonga United was relegated from 2015-2016 season of TNM Super League under the mentorship of Oscar Kaunda.
The current coach for Karonga United, Abraham Mwakhwawa does not have required qualifications to mentor a super league team.
