BLANTYRE, December 12, 2017: Kukoma Diamonds overcame resilient Tigresses 51-45 baskets in the Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League on Saturday at the Blantyre Youth Centre over the weekend as they edge closer to the title.

As usual, Jessica Sanudi led the assault with a lion’s share of goals scored.

Diamonds led throughout all the quarters of play dominating the center play with the likes of Sheila Dimba who is on top of their game and entertained the fans with their unique skills.

Captivatingly, Tigresses died fighting, as they also made Diamonds run for their money, especially through Beatrice Mpinganjira and Sindi Simutowe.

In other games, Thunder Queens beat Polytechnic 86-24, while Gerald Tasaukadala clobbered Young Professionals 40-22 baskets.

Tigresses vented their anger on Chilomoni who they thumped 75-24.

A Southern Region Netball League official, Annie Hanjahanja said they are delighted with the level of competition towards the end of the League.

“The level of competition is superb as opposed to the previous league. This shows that every team wants to make a name,” she said while urging teams to maintain discipline.
