Mwai reportedly snubs Queens call up

Written by  Tione Andsen

Lilongwe, November 9, 2017: Malawi National Netball star,  Mwai Kumwenda is reportedly considering snubbing the national netball team call up

According to a close source, the Malawi News Agency (Mana) spoke with on Thursday, Mwai has declined to join the netball camping on November 12, 2017 at Blantyre in readiness for friendly matches against England.

The source claims that Mwai is demanding that  Netball Association  of Malawi (NAM) should explain the grounds for dropping her for the Fast 5 tournment in Australia last month.

The source claims that Mwai feels that there is still bad blood between her and NAM and the issues which were there have not being resolved.

However, Mwai herself could not be reached for her comment as her phone was off.

NAM General Secretary Carol Bapu did not pick up her phone as it kept ringing when we wanted to find out if she has got the message.

However,  some commentators feel the statement which was made by the teams panel that the players never missed Mwai in Australia was not a ggod way of resolving issues.

NAM has only released names of the players for camping but technical panel has not be named.

Head Coach Samuel Kanyenda who left camping after NAM had released Mwai from camp.

Kanyenda is yet to be called into the panel.

If confirmed, this means NAM will have to find a replacement before Sunday.
