Kukoma Diamonds sink Shizaella in Rainbow Paints encounter

Blantyre, November 6, 2017: Kukoma Diamonds Sunday too strong for a resilient Shizaella Queens in the Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League when they beat them 55 baskets to 21 at Blantyre Youth Centre.

Diamonds were a marvel to watch with some sharp shooting from Jessica Sanudi which saw the her team claiming more baskets

Shizaella should be blamed for inconsistent shooting combined with a poor defence which left them vulnerable at times. 

It was a fast start to Diamonds as the likes of Sanudi, Bridget Kumwenda and Caroline Ngwira combined well to outclass the determined youngsters.

The third quarter was another defensive struggle, with Diamonds able to shut down Shizaella attacks.
Shizaella tried all their best to turn things around but Griffin Saenda’s girls were too strong, as they kept holding on until the final whistle.

Diamond’s skipper, Sanudi was again in good scoring mood in the game that was a tough contest in the first two quarters.

“We responded well and our victory means a lot in as far as our ambition to defend the league is concerned,” she viewed.

Diamonds Assistant Coach Griffin Saenda jnr praised her charges for the good show.

“We are hopeful that we will defend the title. We are focusing ahead on our next game,” he hinted.
