Mzimba, February 11, 2019: A woman aspiring Member of Parliament for Mzimba Solola, under United Transformation Movement (UTM) ticket, Dr. Beatrice Chisenga, has promised good roads and bridges for the constituency.

She made the promise when she presented her nomination papers at Mzimba Labour Office Wednesday.

Dr Chisenga, who has worked in civil service, said Mzimba Solola has faced underdevelopment for a long time, and that she was ready to give the constituency a new face.

“It is time to change things in our constituency like improving road networks around Mzimba Boma and constructing new bridges which are not in good condition,” she said.

She urged her fellow women and all the electorate to vote for her saying she was the only female aspirant for the constituency eager to serve them with a motherly heart.

Dr Chisenga said she would ensure that the youth are given a chance to acquire different skills that will transform their lives.

She also promised to end gender based violence against women and children, which she said is rampant in the district.

Campaign Director for DR. Chisenga, Patrick Botha, said Mzimba Solola Constituency has been under male parliamentarians for a long time, but no tangible impact has been made.

“We want development in Mzimba Solola. This is why we want Dr. Chisenga to represent us and solve all our problems,” he said.

Botha said Dr Chisenga has worked in and outside Malawi under the Ministry of Health which makes her the right candidate for the position.
