Blantyre, March 5: Police in Limbe on Monday apprehended an unscrupulous drug seller for being found selling medical drugs without a license.

Confirming the development to the Malawi News Agency, Southern Region Police Publicist, Nicholas Gondwa said Mackson Mtapo aged 37 of Khwethemule Village Traditional Authority Changata in Thyolo was apprehended when he was caught red-handed selling assorted medical drugs.

Gondwa said the drugs include 33 bottles of doxycycline, 3tins of fragile, 5 bottles of albendazole, 8 bottles of amoxcycline, 1 carton of lidocaine and 50 bottles of injectables, among others.

“The culprit will answer the charge of being found in procession of medical drugs suspected to have been stolen,” said Gondwa.

Meanwhile, the Police are urging the general public to report any illegal sale of drugs to police for the culprits to be brought to book.
