Nsanje district records three cholera cases

Nsanje, February 28, 2019: Nsanje district has suspects new three cholera cases, Malawi News Agency (Mana) can reveal.

Nsanje Environmental Health Officer (EHO), Fred Minyeliwa in an interview on Wednesday said the three are just suspects as they are yet to ascertain if it is really cholera.

He said the suspected cholera cases have been reported at Ndamela health facility which is in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Ndamela.

“We have only taken specimen so that we ascertain if they are really cholera cases. The results will be out in the next three days. These people are from our neighboring country Mozambique where cholera cases have been reported,” Minyeliwa explained.

He said his office has since embarked on cholera awareness campaigns in an attempt to control further spread of the epidemic.
