Lilongwe, January 23, 2018: The Gospel Media (Gosm) production in collaboration with Landline, a Tanzanian film production company will on February 16 to 22 shoot a number of movies and series as one way of creating job opportunities for the youths in Malawi.

The Gosm Production is a group of film makers from different Malawian universities and Colleges situated in Blantyre and Lilongwe.

Gosm has previously produced movies like kulimbana kwabwino, Mashavi, Kumvera, different girl, happy again, second chance and why not me. This year’s film production will be under the subject “Secret”.

Speaking in an interview with the Malawi News Agency (Mana) Founder of Gosm Production, Isaac Misoya said their main focus is to bring transformation to the public through movies and provide opportunities to the youth who he said have made great impact to the country.

“So far we have reached people whom we could not have reached personally with information, and we managed to get youths from different angles to get busy with arts instead of wasting time doing nonsense” said Misoya.

According to Misoya, the group has managed to uplift the film industry in Malawi with their contributions hence the decision to collaborate with other media productions to help maintain a good quality Malawi.

“We are collaborating with a Tanzanian Landline production company to help produce respectable quality Malawian  content that will best put our country on the map with the new production,” he said.

Misoya described the current movie as substantial compared with other movies that were previously produced saying this time around they have improved in terms of quality, rehearsals, direction and cameras saying their actors and actresses have improved much.

“We have better-quality piece of work, this time we have gained much experience in terms of direction, cameras and rehearsals among other things. With the current knowledge it will take us to the next level and definitely we will put Malawi on the map,” he narrated.

Currently, Gosm has four main characters, eight supporting characters and is looking for additional actors and actresses to join them in the next shooting.

The group has no sponsorship but it is more than ready to produce as many movies as it can, if sponsors come in.
