Written by  Esnath Kalawe

Lilongwe, November 21, 2017: The well talented Chimbalame CCAP group of singers popularly known as Pemphero Voices last Sunday launched its first DVD album at a function held at its mission church in Mtandire in Lilongwe.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi News Agency (MANA) the Discipline Master for the choir, Richard Katengeza, said they were happy for achieving their dreams since it was fist time for the group to have a DVD. They have been looking forward to this achievement.

“We are very proud of this DVD because our dreams have come true. We have been preparing for this DVD since last year. Since we have now launched it, everyone can access it,” Katengeza said.

According to Katengeza, the album has 11 songs carrying great massages in some of the tracks like Tiyeni tipite kumwamba , Gologota, musanditaye  , ukatha moyo, popita ku Gologota  and Tulani Katundu which is the title track, among other songs.

“The songs in the album carry great messages of preaching the gospel words, hope, salvation and eternal life among other messages,” he said.

He further said the group faced some financial hitches during production of the DVD which could have led to failure to achieve their intended objective.
“The time we were producing the DVD, we faced a lot of challenges, especially those of inadequate funds, which could have let us down but well wishers, including church elders, came in with their assistance to facilitate the process,” Katengeza stated.

Some of the artists which spiced the occasions included Great Angels Choir, Maxwell Olloto, Kakule Sunday School Choir among others.

Maxwell Olloto, one of the invited artists in attendance said the function was very superb since it is the first time for the choir to organise such a function.

“The choir has started well and it was so good so nice, next time I think they will do much better than this,” Olloto said.

Olloto advised the group to have more publicity if they intend to organise another function in future in order to accomplish their plans of reaching greater audience.

Pemphero Voices started in 2014 with about 50 Members and have a vision of doing charity work like cheering prisoners at Maula Prison and doing the same for the blind and the deaf in different schools among other plans.
