Lilongwe, October 26. 2017: The Lilongwe based urban artist Vube (real name Kumbukani Kasinja) is eyeing his first award since he joined the music industry at the Urban Music People (UMP) 2017 awards to be held in Lilongwe on 18th November, 2017.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi News Agency on Thursday, Vube said he believes he can grab the new artist award.

“We really worked hard this year and to be nominated it wasn’t by chance but because of our work. I do urge all my fans to vote for me, they have been listening to my music and they know how it tastes, without them I could not have been like this,” Vube said.

The new best artist award is an accolade that UMP gives to those that have newly been introduced to the music industry, hence their contribution to the growth of the country’s music industry and entertainment in general.

Vube is in challenge for the award with other three artists who include Seven more, Tuno and Waxy Kay.

In his career, Vube has managed to release seven songs. In some of them he featured big names like Physix and Matse.

“Our focus is to switch to international market, we want to see ourselves being nominated in international awards and this is just a start,” Vube added.
