Three emerge winners in PJ Bite ‘Mbuzi zipite’ competitions

Lilongwe, December 27, 2017: Three people emerged winners in different categories in the Peter Jere (PJ) Bite Restaurant Mbuzi zipite get together competitions, an event which took place at their compound next to District Commissioners Offices in Lilongwe.

Speaking in an interview with the Malawi News Agency (Mana) after the accomplishment of the event, the Operations and Logistics Manager, Montie Mhango said the function was organised just to make the customers that go and purchase food at the restaurant enjoy Christmas in special way.

“We organised this competition just to say thank you to our customers, just to motivate them as you know that today is Christmas and we want our customers to celebrate the birth of Jesus in a special way,” Mhango said.

According to Mhango the competition was organized in different categories to give chance to everyone to participate saying it is not just to boost business but also to give Christmas gifts to their customers.

The three winners who walked away with live goats were Chrispine Mbewe, Gift Mthuntha and Tony Mwenengana from different categories that were Pool Mbuzi Ipite competition, buy three beers and win a goat competition and buy a meal mbuzi ipite competition respectively.

“In all areas I think we have achieved what we wanted because we were targeting the underprivileged people to enjoy Christmas as well, not just to make our business grow,” he said.

Some of the prizes included free meals, T-shirts and free beers.

One of the winners who walked away with a T-shirt in beer drinking category,  Chifuniro Mweghama  told Mana that he was happy to be one of the winners saying next time he hopes to win a goat.
“I am very happy to be one of the winners, mine are just thanks to the organizing committee, this should not be the end, next time I hope I will be one of the mbuzi ipite winners,” Mweghama said.

The event was spiced up by entertainment sounds from King Chambiecco, Dj Chroincs and Naliator.
