Blantyre, December 4, 2017: One of the leading local paint manufacturing company, Rainbow Paints, has embarked on a countrywide programme to equip the youth with painting and sign writing skills.

The company's Sales and Marketing Manager, Bruno Silas, said the programme is also geared to network stakeholders with painters at district level including unveiling some of the products the company has.

“The company believes that painting is technical, hence the need for those using our paints to be sensitized on how they can use paint for maximum satisfaction. We want all painters countrywide to follow best painting procedures,” said Silas.

He said so far, the company has trained people from Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Zomba and Mulanje where he said hundreds of youth have already attained painting skills. According to Silas, that is also one way of reminding people about basic painting practices.

Silas said Rainbow Paints would continue with the trainings so that all those interested to gain painting skills benefit in every district. He said beneficiaries are identified through structures at district level.

“In terms of business, 2017 has been a great year to Rainbow Paints though we experienced some challenges. 2018 shall be an exciting year as we are planning to introduce more products on top of the 40 that we already have on the market that are tailor-made for Malawians.

“We continue to urge all people to buy Rainbow Paints from authorized dealers to avoid buying counterfeit products. The painting trainings shall continue because we recognize that painting performance depends on skills,” he said.

Henry Mawindo from Thyolo is one of the people who has benefited from Rainbow Paints. He said the trainings provided are beneficial to those who would wish to be skilled painters.

“It is a free training and we have benefited a lot. For example, all along I did not know that paint is not supposed to be diluted with water. Once you buy it, just use it,” said Mawindo.
